Self Tanning Lotion-8 0z.

So why did Nature's Infusions decide to make a self-tanning lotion? Well it all started with my 18 year old's obsession with being tan. Having a very fair complexion, she has been very wise to stay out of the sun...okay, I bribed her by buying her self tanning products. When fall came last year, I thought she would be over the tanning, but no. She was going through a bottle a week. Six ounces of product for fourteen dollars (she also has expensive tastes!) was getting to be a bit much, and I wasn't crazy about all the chemicals in there either. So I developed a just-about-all-natural-self tanning lotion(With the exception of the DHA- which to me is debatable on the natural issue). The ingredients: Aloe Vera, Peach Kernel Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Natural Palm Oil, Vitamin E, and essential oils. It is preserved with Biopein®, which is comprised of a proprietary blend of botanical extracts. DHA content is 5%.

Color is noticable after about 3 hours. No other colorants are added so there is no staining of clothing or linens.

Daily use for 2-3 days develops a nice “base”. You can then use it every 3 days there after. It does not produce an orangy color. It seems to enhance each individuals skin tone. It also doesn't make you “really dark”, it's more of a medium tan.

We haven't noticed any streaking, but care should be taken to avoid rough spots such as feet, ankles, elbows, knees, and hands.Using a moist wash cloth to lightly wipe these areas after applying seems to work well. Thoroughly wash hands.

DHA is a colorless sugar that has been FDA approved for more than 30 years, DHA works by interacting with the amino acids only in the surface cells found in the outermost layers of the skin, producing color changes. As the dead skin cells naturally wear off, the color gradually fades, just like a genuine sun tan. This does not cause damage to the underlying living layers of skin.

“DHA INCI Name: Dihydroxyacetone (NI) This is a Natural product from natural origin. Non genetically modified bacteria used for fermentation. No chemical solvent used for crystallisation. A biodegradable substance with an ecological process.

DHA provides a natural looking brown or golden hue, without exposure to the sun.

Self tanning preparations: 3% - 5% DHA

DHA is a natural substance, present in the human body. In consequence the risk of an allergic response is very low. It has been demonstrated that chronic applications do not induce any carcinogenic effect.”(This information and more available at http://www.aromantic.co.uk )
