Welcome to the first Nature´s Infusions newsletter! This is where we hope to introduce new products, special savings, recipes and ideas for healthy living. We have a flurry of new products on or soon to be added to the site.
It took us a while, but we finally perfected the art of liquid Castile Soap! That´s right-pure, 100% virgin olive oil saponified-nothing else-clear and simple. Sold in 7.5 oz bottles for $5.00. Once we achieved success with that, we decided to “kick it up a notch” as Emeril would say! On its own, Castile soap is a gentle cleanser, but when you add herbal extracts and essential oils specific for skin type, you´ve created a personalized cleanser for face and body. Available in acne/oily, normal/dry, and dry/mature. 7.5 ounces for $6.50.
Sugar scrubs are back on the site! We removed the salt and sugar scrubs earlier this year, because we were using a preservative with parabens, and I just wasn´t comfortable doing that. The mission of Nature´s Infusions is to get back to nature, and there are some serious issues with parabens being linked to cancer. When we went back to the “drawing table”, it was to create a product without parabens, or stinging (salts can do that), or a heavy greasy feel on the body and the tub. We achieved this by combining a cream soap made of Hemp Seed, Virgin Palm, Virgin Coconut & Avocado Oils, together with Shea Butter and/or Cocoa Butters, Meadowfoam Seed, Evening Primrose, Borage, and Rosehip Seed oils. Raw, Turbinado Sugar and other natural exfoliates all mixed up with essential oils, absolutes, and floral waxes to just polish you from head to toe! We´ve got some great scents: Cocoa Citrus Bliss, Honey Almond, Twisted Lime, Lavender Vanilla, Jasmine Sambac, and West Indian Spice. 11 ounces for $12.50, and a smaller “try me” size, 4.5 ounces $4.75.
New Soaps!
Traditional African Black Soap- This is not pretty soap, nor does it smell yummy! Using the traditional methods and ingredients of Ghana, West Africa, Fair Trade Virgin Palm, Virgin Coconut oils, and Black Paste (part of an age old tradition by village women in Ghana, they create a paste which is hand pressed from palm leaves, paw-paw fruit, cocoa shells, plantain, palm kernel oil, and herbs) are mixed over an open kettle, and had pressed into logs. While we don´t claim any miracle cures, traditionally this soap is used on babies, and skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, and more! And we have had some great feed back from sufferers of acne and eczema. 5-6 ounce bar is $5.00.
Chocolate Macadamia Nut Crunch- You´ll want to, but don´t try to eat this soap! Shea Butter, Golden Prime Pressed Cocoa Butter, Virgin Coconut Cream Oil, Unrefined Macadamia Oil, Ghiradelli chocolate, ground macadamia nuts, Cocoa Absolute, and Vanilla infused Coconut Oil. Need we say more? If you are a chocolate lover this is one decadent bar of luxurious soap! 4.75 ounce bars are $5.00 each.
Lemon Zinger Available 11/27- if the zesty citrus scent of this bar doesn´t wake you up, the caffeine will! Yep, that´s right, there´s caffeine in the soap. For each average shower you take, Lemon Zinger soap releases about 200-250 mg of caffeine which is absorbed by your skin And yes it does work. There are bars out there on the web selling for $6.99-$7.99 a 4 ounce bar. They are melt and pour (synthetic) glycerin bars. Our Lemon Zinger bars are created using organic cream, Shea Butter, Virgin Olive Oil, and Coconut Oil scented with Lemon and Litsia essential oils and lemon peel powder. 5-6 ounce bar is $5.50.
New Scents for Whipped Shea Butters!
West Indian Spice-A blend of West Indian Bay essential oil and vanilla grass infused coconut oil. Warm, comforting, and yummy!
Lavender Vanilla-A blend of Bulgarian and Russian Lavender softened with creamy vanilla absolute. Dreamy!
For the Home- We´ve been busy creating simmering potpourris based on our fabulous all natural, no fillers potpourris. 2 tablespoons added to a simmering pot, on the fireplace, stove top, or even the electric/candle potpourri burners will fill your home with a pleasing, natural scent for hours. Four scents to choose from: Autumn Spice, a traditional cinnamon/clove/anise scent; Flowering Herb, a nice balance between floral and herb; West Indian Spice, a tropical spice rich with West Indian Bay, Lemon, orange, clove and linden flowers; Winter Forest, a refreshing scent blended with fir needle, cedar wood, rosemary, lemon, and rosewood. 2 cups for $4.50.
Help for Stuffed Noses! Yes it´s that time of the year again…cold & flu season. Here is one of the easiest and effective ways to help clear up those stuffy noses and sinuses before going to bed: At our house we call it “Going Under The Pot”. Get a large pot or kettle of water simmering. In the meantime, set a large bathroom towel (folded in half) on the front room floor. Have a blanket (and you or the kids) ready. Add 3 drops eucalyptus oil to the pot. Carefully set it on the towel. Gather everyone (yes, this can be a group therapy!) Throw the blanket over the heads and bodies so that it touches the floor. Heads are a safe 18”-2 feet above the pot, and just breathe. We stay under at least 5-10 minutes, or until there is no more steam. Eucalyptus oil can be purchased at most health food stores and a few drug stores. If you can´t find it, you can use the mentholatum you find in the stores. About one teaspoon in the pot, but the eucalyptus really works better. Don´t forget the chicken soup, lots of water, green tea, and keep those hands washed!
